La famiglia — my two homes

Family is everything in Italy. Sunday lunches that last all afternoon, cousins who are really neighbours, and a nonna who thinks you have not eaten enough. Ever.

"I go back and forth," says Adam

My dad is American and my mamma is Italian, so I grew up in two languages and two cultures. I go back and forth — pancakes one day, gnocco fritto the next; baseball caps one summer at my Uncle Bill's, il mare the next. Luna comes with me every time, of course.

That is really why this app exists. Learning Italian is not just words on a card — it is being able to talk with the people you love. When you learn with your mom, dad, or your child, you are doing the most Italian thing there is: doing it together.

Famiglia first!

Every kitchen at home has a moka on the stove. When it starts to gurgle, someone shouts caffè! and everybody comes.
